Our Issue:

Our organization recognizes that the trauma survivors of sexual and domestic violence can become compounding trauma (complex trauma). Complex trauma can be seen in our survivors and community members who are still facing domestic violence and needing to leave. It can also be seen years later as they are staying in another toxic relationship or workplace or isolation that mimics their past resulting in repeated self sabotaging behaviors. Complex trauma can result in chronic illness when we don't know how to best cope from the traumas. Both immediate as well as long term shifts are vital for survivors, which is why we believe in post traumatic growth supports in the ways that survivors can rewire their mindsets through consistent practices of movement and somatic practices. Through our community movement classes that center ways to practice listening to one’s boundaries, honoring one’s feelings, and actively respecting the consent within ourselves and others we are shifting our communities to know our daily actions can shift cycles of violence both in our mind, body, and hearts. We address immediate needs through our survivor emergency funding (we have already distributed over $1500).
